The pre-opening phase of any new hotel is a huge challenge. What made them choose to work at new hotels that haven’t been fully developed? The reasons are :
1. It’s like being welcomed into a new family.
2. Engage with my supervisors more often and thus learnt quicker on the job.
3. Learning to be flexible and picked up skills and experience beyond my job scope
4. Feeling a great sense of achievement as they contributed to setting up systems and procedures for the hotel
**For many of the pre-opening team, it felt like they were working towards opening our own hotel. They took great pride and ownership in everything they did.
